As I’ve said many times before, I’m here to learn. I understand  your compassion (though I think it’s misguided). I can see your reluctance to fight to  protect even the innocent (though what will it take to get you to fight escapes me).

But some things still baffle me. So let’s play 20 questions. I’ll post the questions and look forward to hearing your answers on the ones you choose:

  1. Why is it more important to protect gays’ rights than Christians’ rights?
  2. Why is health care rationing by committee (government or HMO) better than a free market?
  3. Why have you broadened the meaning of sexual assault to include an unwanted hug? Aren’t you trivializing rape? (I think it’s to pump the numbers to make the problem seem larger.)
  4. Did you ever wonder why contraception wasn’t a political issue until the Obamacare started to pay for it?
  5. How can you be against capital punishment and in favor of unrestricted abortion?
  6. Why is no fault divorce and free sex acceptable but dads have no say in the abortion decision and husbands can’t stop a divorce, and then they under a criminal penalty to pay child support?
  7. Since unwed mothers are much more likely to be poor, why do you want to pay for them to have kids?
  8. Why was it OK to bomb Libya but bad to bomb ISIS?
  9. If your pacificism is supposedly based on Jesus as your model, what do you make of him and the money changers?
  10. If you’re not Catholic why do you get so worked up about matters internal to my Church; e.g. Father Gerald Robinson?
  11. If you’re a Catholic, what do you think SNAP wants besides to punish the Church? Why don’t “survivors” who are being given counseling and paid for any of their injuries let go? How does keeping the pot stirred help them?
  12. Why do you favor legalizing pot but want to ban soda and salt?
  13. If we’re letting the poor starve, why is the primary medical issue for them obesity?
  14. If you’re so concerned about middle class folks voting allegedly against their economic interest, i.e. conservative (which isn’t true. It creates opportunity), why aren’t you concerned about billionaires working against theirs — e.g. Buffett, Steyer, Soros — if money is all the rich care about?
  15. Why isn’t your attack on the well-to-do not an exercise in coveting your neighbor’s property?
  16. Why did you stop being for free speech (e.g. Berkeley ’64-’65) to being for hate crime legislation, and speech codes on campus?
  17. When did it get to be the fed’s job to set the menu at my local school district? Hint: the principle of subsidiarity suggests it doesn’t
  18. If you opposed cutting yourself, elective plastic surgery or other forms of mutilation, why do you support sex re-assignment surgery?
  19. If your reject the faith you were raised in, why (don’t give me any doctrinal issue—that’s not the way it works)?

If you support separation of church and state:

20. Why do you want the government to regulate gay marriage, and to force churches to employ gays?

21. Require the Little Sisters of the Poor to pay for contraception?

Please pick one or more. Tell me, how you get to the position you hold today?
